Wild Pony by EdgedFeather Wild Pony by EdgedFeather
I got to go to Assateague Island, Maryland, for the first time yesterday. I was hoping to see some Osprey and Egrets, but was pleasantly surprised by the wild ponies that live on the island!

Feel free to use my photos as references and stock. Please give me credit if you use my photo! I would love to see what you make, so send me a link! :) (Smile)

Wow they were close! Every time I've gone they were really far away. I read that there are wild ponies down here too but I have yet to visit that area.

They walked right past us. We were probably 10 feet away. I had to back up to get better photos. I totally didn't expect to see them at all.

I would LOVE to see some wild horses out west.

Yeah me, too. I'm not sure whether going to Montana or Alberta would be better to see them. I'd have to do research.

Recognized this was Assateague before even reading the description! Love it there. I'd love to spend a whole week there photographing the horses <3

Haha, this was my first visit there. I didn't expect to see them, but the first place we stopped, they came walking down the one path! We ended up stopping along the beach and they had just happened to walk there. I would love to go back and spend more time there!

What a beautiful pony! He/she seems cautious/curious about who you are :)

Reminds me of the book/movie Misty of Chincoteague.

Thanks! The ponies on the island are very used to people. I found this one wandering through the one camp area. It walked right against the one tent!

Thanks! I have never been to Assateague before. I had no idea it was so close to Ocean City!

Yeah, definitely worth the little bit of drive. There is a nice zoo only about an hours drive or so from there two.

Oh really? Awesome! I have never had the chance to explore around Ocean City. When I go, we only stay for 2 or 3 days before we have to leave. I will definitely have to try to check that out next time I get down there!
